Contract and health agreement

Shipping is not a part of this guarantee and will not be refunded if you change your mind after purchasing your puppy from Bearded Lady Schnauzers.

Please read the following agreement. If you have any questions, please ask for clarification prior to signing.

To the best of my knowledge, this puppy is in good health at the time of delivery. Buyer has three working days to have the puppy checked by a licensed veterinarian. Failure to do so will void your health guarantee. For refunds or exchanges due to immediate life-threatening genetic health defects, the opinion of two licensed veterinarians (one of which is to be chosen by Bearded Lady Schnauzers) is required. If both veterinarians discover the puppy has an immediate life-threatening genetic health defect, the puppy must be returned within three days of being examined by said veterinarians for a refund of the purchase price or a replacement puppy of equal or greater value at the breeder’s discretion. This return/exchange will only be allowed if the puppy is returned with a letter from the examining veterinarians stating in what respect the puppy has been found to have a life-threatening genetic defect. No refunds after the three day warranty period. Breeder will not replace or refund for any of the following reasons, but not limited to: Allergy, mortality, landlord’s disapproval, family disagreement or any other problems not related to the genetic health of the dog. A refund/return also will not be issued for a puppy’s illness caused by neglect, exposure to weather, injury, choking, poisoning, etc. Retained testicles, hernias, patellar luxation, and liver shunts are excluded from this guarantee. The buyer must contact the breeder within 24 hours upon discovery of an illness or defect. Any delay in doing so, voids this guarantee. The breeder at this time has the right to have the puppy examined by her veterinarian. No warranty or guarantee is made to the disposition, life-span, size, color, show quality, or breeding quality of any puppy. Breeder will not be liable for any expenses including but not limited to any veterinary bills or other expenses.  No refund or replacement will be made on a deceased puppy until a necropsy is performed and the cause of death is determined to be from a life-threatening genetic health defect. Such necropsy must be performed by an accredited institution set up for such procedures such as WestVet. A necropsy performed by a local veterinarian will not be accepted. All expenses will be paid by the owner of the puppy. The necropsy will accompany any request for replacement or refund. This guarantee is null and void upon any evidence of abuse or neglect, or if the buyer fails to have yearly checkups with a qualified veterinarian. Proof of said maintenance must be furnished upon request of the breeder. No guarantee is given for any kind of worm, coccidiosis, or giardia. These parasites are all too common to puppies and can be contracted from your water, soil or boarding facility. Your puppy has been wormed frequently from two weeks of age until in your possession. It is your responsibility to continue to worm your puppy and check for parasites. Your puppy should be wormed every two weeks until it is placed on a monthly heartworm preventative. Internal flea preventatives that contain pesticides, such as Capstar, are not acceptable and voids your guarantee. No guarantee is given for hypoglycemia (low blood sugar). This condition is not hereditary and is very preventable. This guarantee is non-transferable. Please be conscientious about vaccinating or administering nosodes to your puppy properly. Over vaccinating can cause immediate and long term health problems. Please also be extremely cautious of any Lepto vaccines. Vaccination related deaths and reactions are not covered under this warranty. This puppy has been properly vaccinated for distemper and parvovirus. Recent research has shown that early spaying and neutering has been linked to certain long-term health conditions. These hormones are extremely important for your dog’s growth and development, therefore spaying or neutering your puppy before time of maturity (before 12 months of age for males or before the first heat cycle for females) will void this warranty. The safety of the puppy and those around the puppy are the buyer’s responsibility. Any medical or psychological costs due to injury directly or indirectly from the animal will in no way be covered by the breeder. SHOULD YOU CHOOSE TO REGISTER YOUR PUPPY WITH ANY DOG REGISTRY INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE AMERICAN KENNEL CLUB, YOU MUST INCLUDE THE PREFIX OF “BEARDED LADY” IN THE NAME OF YOUR DOG OR THIS GUARANTEE IS VOID. Any claims made will require proof of such registration. AKC papers, health records, vet records and any other registry papers must accompany any claims on this guarantee. Any dog that has sired or conceived/whelped one or more pups is no longer covered under this guarantee.

Bearded Lady Schnauzer’s main goal is to produce well rounded, healthy pets. The best way to ensure a healthy dog is through nutrition, and feeding the right food is imperative for proper long-term health. Feeding a wheat, corn and soy free food that is nutrient dense is important in maintaining a healthy Miniature Schnauzer. This food must also have an appropriate percentage of fat and protein for your pet. Feeding pawTree dog food is the final condition of your pet’s guarantee. This food must be ordered through our portal on the pawTree website to keep your warranty current: https://pawtree.com/beardedladyschnauzers. If you choose to deviate from a pawTree diet, your warranty is null and void from that date forward.
