What size are bearded lady schnauzers?

We specialize in Miniature Schnauzers, which can vary in size. Typically Miniature Schnauzers are between 15-20 lbs. Most of our dogs, however, are considered toy sized and will range between 6-12 lbs.

What is the difference in coats?

Miniature Schnauzers can come in three different coat types: Wire haired, Super coat and Mega coat. The wire hair coats are the standard coat for schnauzers. Over the years, breeders have found that with careful breeding, softer coats can be achieved as well. Super coats are silkier and finer than the wire coats. Mega coats are softer as well, but much fuller with a luxurious look and feel. Both mega coats are hard to achieve and are much rarer than the wire hair.

DOn’t miniature schnauzer only come in three colors: black and silver, salt and pepper and black?

No. Miniature Schnauzers come in an array of colors including white, white chocolate, liver, parti, liver pepper and more. The AKC recognizes these colors as well as the three standard colors.

how do you determine the price of a puppy?

The price of a puppy is decided by careful consideration of the puppy itself. We do not do blanket pricing for the simple fact that all puppies are different, even within the same litter. Pricing is heavily dependent on coat and temperament. You will find that while we certainly do not have the cheapest priced puppies, we do have some of the best puppies. The time, care and resources that are put into the raising and breeding of our dogs reflects the pricing as well. Our philosophy is that it’s worth the initial investment to ensure you have a quality dog that has had the best start in life.

WHy should i choose a bearded lady schnauzer puppy?

Bearded Lady Schnauzers are carefully chosen for coat, health, temperament and intelligence. Our dogs are raised with our family and are showered in love and attention. They are exposed to other dogs and children from an early age. We value diet and nutrition in maintaining health and quality of life above synthetic medications. Our parent dogs also go through OFA testing to ensure that their puppies will be inherently healthy. Our dogs are naturally reared and have early neurological stimulation starting at 3 days of age. These practices give way to a breeding program with the best possible outcome: Dogs who are beautiful, healthy and even tempered. When you bring a dog into your home, it’s a long-term commitment. We want that commitment to be the most joyous and stress-free it can be, and that starts with the best bred dogs.

Your dogs are toy sized with soft, full coats. Are they a hybrid breed?

In short, no. Toy sized schnauzers will be registered as Miniature Schnauzers because that’s what they are, just smaller. All of the dogs at Bearded Lady Schnauzers are AKC registered with some coming from Best In Breed lines. The soft coats and smaller sizing have come from careful and selective breeding practices that entails nothing but pure Miniature Schnauzers.

Do you sell breeding rights?

In short- No. This does not mean that your puppy is not registrable, but will come with limited registration rights, which means you simply cannot breed him/her.

Can I visit my puppy before pick up/drop off?

Due to safety and health concerns visitations are prohibited. It is disturbingly common for puppies to contract parvovirus (or other infections) due to contact with visitors who unknowingly have it on their shoes, hands, etc. We want to ensure that not only are our puppies and parents safe, but our family is safe as well.
In place of in person visits we offer pictures, videos and FaceTime sessions so that you can see you can meet your puppy, and see him grow.
